Unpredictable Colors for Autumn

The temps have finally dropped and we can layer up without risking sweating through everything. And this season I am looking forward to mixing and matching some unpredictable color combinations. I love colors and find unexpected color schemes especially beautiful.

My grandmother recently passed and she played a key role in developing my sense of style as well as my appreciation for the wonderful things in everyday life. She taught me to see the beauty in people, art, and nature and as the saturated leaves fall around me, I feel like she is in each one, smiling at me and reminding me to see the beauty everywhere I look. It can be more challenging but I find that when I make a point to do it my mood lifts and life gets just that little bit easier.

Lately I’ve been playing with different color combinations and adding to the typical mix of autumnal colors that we see. It’s been fun to add yellows and blues to my brown and burnt orange hues. I’ve also paired them with animal prints for an extra sassy kick.

Playing with different tones of colors we typically see in the fall has been interesting too. Lighter blues, teals, bright greens, and oranges can be paired with any neutrals including navy, chocolate brown, or tan. You can also add a touch of metallic to make an outfit feel fancier in a pinch.

As always, I’ve put together pieces that you can mix and match into your wardrobe for a fun addition of color this fall.
