Giving Back
When going through the various closets I work in, I find pieces that could be given a second home. When this happens, I love to give to WINGS, a non-profit agency in Chicago that is committed to breaking the cycle of domestic violence.
The Mission
The mission of the WINGS Program, Inc. is to provide housing, integrated services, education and advocacy to end domestic violence.
The Philosophy
They believe that everyone has the potential and strength to overcome difficult life circumstances and to accomplish goals that will lead to an enhanced quality of life.
They are committed to treating each adult and child in a respectful and compassionate manner while valuing the unique qualities and needs of each individual and family.
They provide high-quality facilities, intensive client support, and an integrated continuum of housing and services. They employ safety planning and a Trauma-Informed Care model across all of our services.
They do not discriminate based on race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, or gender identity.
